Subject: Just installed a glass pack IP: Logged
Message: Last week I orders a 28" glass pack from jegs. I installed it yesterday. Took me 45 mins to do. Man does my truck sound good. Its got a nice mellow rumble at idle and rally comes alive when I open it up. It does have the v-6 buzz but thats the nature of the beast. Ya know I've heard exhaust system on other v6 daks and theses guys have spend a crap load of money. I spend 30 bucks total and have on that sounds just a good. No realy performance gains cause I don't really have any mods yet.

Message: Aside from the fact that you must of been under the influence of somethinbg when you did this, why in the F@$^@ would you put glass packs on anything that has 4 wheels. You wounder why you have had no performance gains.....well, you are running pretty much stright pipes. Say good bye to any gas milage that you had. Just out of courisoity, how much a$$ does it sound like wound out. You couldnt of spent the extra 20 or 30 bux for something respectiable like a flowmaster??

Message: I've never had a problem with them before. I've actually gained some mpg. In my opinion it sound pretty good. I had them on my other truck and know people who have them on their truck and cars and they like them as well. What the big F@#$%^ deal with everyone hateing glass packs anyway. Whats so wrong with them.

Message: Just ignore that guy/girl. Glasspacks sound good and are great if you are low on cash or just want the rumbly sound they give. I have had them on my camaros for years and take them over turbos, flows, or straight pipes. Don't listen to dingo wads like that, just do what you think sounds good. I have the 6 in my truck as well and hope to put the hemi in in a couple years but till then, i do with what i got. Sure there is less rumble to the 6, but thats the way it goes. Sure is great to take an 8 off the line!
I have a turbo muffler on my 6 now. I don't recomend it at all, i was just in a pinch for some HP and had it from my 72 Camaro just sitting on the shelf. Definately helped HP and MPG, I know cuz I have 33's and a lift. No more kicking off the overdrive to make it up hills.
Anyways, good luck with the truck.

Message: Glasspacks are nice. I had a '67 mustang with 289, headers and glasspacks. Sounded REAL good when you got on it!
Never had any problems with them. But you got to like that FAT sound to appreciate them.
I also like the sound of drag-pipes on a Harley too.!!
Just my 2 cents.

Message: mmmmm fat girl. They are the greatest. You can auctally find them quite good looking. And glass backs on a V8 are one thing because you have the rumble and power to make people shut up. Not in a 2 ton V6 pick-up with the aerodynamics of a brick.

Message: probably reviving a dead horse but...
I have glass packs on Duals, sound great and better on gas mileage and cheaper than buyin a V8. I will be the 1st to admit my '93 is 100% RedNeck truck. Wal-Mart special "Liberator A/T 30x9.5's, 2" lift, Deer killer bumper on the front, Car Killer bumper on the back and every body panel has "Character" and a few different colors of paint but ya know what, I wouldn't even swap it for a new Chevy or Ford. Keep the glass packs just be cautious about when you decide to "Make sum Noise" 'cuz the cops get upset about it :)
