Message:
Check to see if the distrubtor is rotating. maybe the distrubutor drive gear went out and thats why no spark. This happened to my Dakota. And if that is the problem just go to a junk yard and pull one out of any small block Dodge it will work make sure to remove any pieces of metal and change the oil every 500 miles for about 3000 miles to remove any left over shavings I used a magnet on my oil filter to help

Message: i replaced cps, and that didnt fix it, i put the comuter out of my'94 dakota in it and it started it shifts a little funny but i think that's because the computer is out a manual tranny. but i got my truck back and that's all that matters.

Message: I am having the same problem with my 93' dakota v6. I pulled out the cps and found that it actually broke off the bracket and was hanging in the bellhousing just by the wires. So I think that is the problem why I have no spark. as I have 2 computers for this truck and they both do the same thing, and I replaced wires/coil. and I also tested the pickup and it was fine, and the plugs are fine also.
I want to know since this truck was run with the cps hanging like is weird why it ran, but it did but spuratically. and it tested bad. and when I put the new one in do I have to turn the motor to tdc or just put it in and the computer will compencate for it??
