Message: PROBLEM: I have traced this problem all the way down to the computer. (I Think)
I have a 1993 Dodge Dakota that won't start. First I put a fuel pressure gauge and timing light to see if I wasn't getting gas or fire. When I tried to start it, I wasn't getting either. Thats when I started chasing wires. I found that a relay (auto shutdown) supplies fire to both these....coil fire and fuel pump power. (fuel pump power is feed from auto shudown relay also) I tested the wires going to the relay and everything was fine except the blue wire with yellow tracing wasn't giving me a gound. This wire comes from the computer.
I figured 2 things. Either we wasn't getting a good ground to the computer, or the computer is shot. I tested the gound going to the computer with a headlight (to put a load on the wire) and the ground on the computer was good. I also took every ground wire off of the chassis and sanded it down to make sure I was getting a good ground.
I tried the diagonistics to see if I had any stored codes on the ECM. It is supposed to start with a flash of 8/8, give me my codes, and end with a 5/5. It didn't. It flashed 4,3,6,2,5,5. WTF.
I'm thinking it is a computer giving me my problems, so if yall have some input, please let me know. I'm looking for a cheap ECM for a 1993 dodge dakota, 3.9 liter, auto, a/c, 2wd, 1/2 ton, and I think thats it.
Thanks
David Moss

Message: Wow! I didn't know Dodge made a half ton Dakota. So the starter turns fine, but no firing? You sound way more knowledgable than I am. Might as well make sure you got air.
