Ok a while back I was having a problem with my windshield wipers not working. I replaced the motor and they work fine, but now my radio cuts on and off at will. I double checked all my wire connections and they are fine. But check this, I was paying attention to WHEN it does it last night and the radio seems to cut off more when I am comming to a stop. I have really no clue about wiring but I've put radios in before, what the $%^# could be causing this?

My radio also cuts in and out. It seems to be ok in the winter but when the weather starts to get hot I have problems. When it cuts out, I have to turn the power knob off and on (1 to 30 times). When you see the staion number instead of the clock on the display stop switching it off and on.

Check fuses, check grounds and check whires for internal brakeage(wiggle test)

My 99 Dakota's steering wheel controls get all whacky when the temperature gets above 60. The down volume turns up the volume. And also the track controls reverse sometimes. I Have not Had time to screw around with it.

for some reason my windshield wipers only have three speeds instead of 6 or 7, the little light around the ignition switch doesn't work, my seatbelt light doesn't come on, and the bell doesn't go off when i leave my lights on. i have no idea what to do

Damn my little light around the ignition doesn't turn on either. I didn't think it was supposed to. Well least I'm not the only one with a Dak with electrical gremlins. Just wish I had bought it new so that all this crap would be under warrenty

I've had a few electrical problems. I had a short circuit that the dealer could not find. They had my truck for two days. I finally figured out that the gears for my emergency brake were rubbing the wireing harness.

Ok I win the idot of the day award. Finally had time to do a complete check of all the wires and boy I must be color blind. When installing an aftermarket deck, there is no ground in the harness so you have to ground the radio yourself.
Still wondering about the light around the ignition, is it even supposed to come on????

Don't hold me to this....but on some models, low end, base models, the lite doesn't work......maybe slopehead will enlighten us.... slopehead if you please, would you ask your dealership owning brother about this?
