As a wise person on this board once told me:

As far as hooking it up....

Run a wire from your fuse box under the dash (that is only hot when the key is on) to a relay (available at any parts store for about $10) and find a place somewhere in your engine compartment to bolt the relay to using a self tapping screw. From the relay, run wires to your pos. and neg. battery posts and also to the fans. This relay is absolutely necessary so you don't fry your ignition wires in your steering column. The fans should be hooked up to come on with the key, or possibly a toggle switch. It's really alot easier than it sounds!

2nd answer...
Yes, your pulley stays on the water pump. You will just have bare threads there for the would be clutch fan. Now you know why your water pump will last longer this way,...absolutely no weight on the front of it!

3rd answer...
You will have a lot easier installation of your fans if you pull your radiator out. This takes only a few minutes anyway. While at the parts store, pick up about 4-6 of those fan clips. I'm not sure of their technical name, but all they do is push through your radiator fins and they kind of look like a tywrap with a big plastic nut on the end, about the size of a quarter. Once you stick them through the radiator, the fan is held on by sliding that "nut" on the end of it and locking down on it like a tywrap. Find about 4-6 holes through the fan to do this so it will be secure. The more the better. Once the fans are secure, put the radiator with the fans attached back in and wire it up.
This will all take a couple of hours, but you will be glad you did the next time you have to work on anything. Makes a big difference in cooling, a little performance and of course access to your motor.

Buffett33,

What brand name fan did you buy for your dak? I'm interested in getting one.

Thanks
