Message: I have the Fastman 46mm TB, and I am very happy with the performance increase. It's also cheaper than the F&B!
I would go with either one, rather than a V8 TB swap.
Just my opinion.

Message: Stock V6 TB is either a tapered 44-42mm/46-44mm.
Stock V8 TB is a tapered 50-48mm.
For a MILDLY modified V6 get the 46mm TB from Dan.
For a more aggressive set up get the 48mm TB from Sam.

Message: So, what does everyone consider mild/aggressive? I have a K&N with Dynamax Super Turbo so far.

Message: what you have is mild aggressive. You would be better off with the Fastman TB. The 48mm is for highly modified or supercharged V6's.

Message: Well-- in some people's minds 48mm is too big.
But, the F&B 48mm is designed for the 3.9L from the ground up. The 48mm F&B works fine on stock 3.9L, semi modded, and more... Just shipped off 10 of them!
If you run a SC, F&B can do the 50mm in V6 trim.
30 day return policy on it--- They work.

Message: Thanks for the good info. By the way, i'm new at this so forgive me; but, how difficult is the TB swap? For the F&B - any additionl parts required? For the 'fastman' what about all the addition machining that's been done, how will that affect installation?

Message: With the F&B, complete installation instructions are included (with diagrams and pictures). Complete factory support (you got an issue, question, give them a call). F&B TBs come complete with all stainless mounting hardware, and a new TB gasket. You'll need a set of torx to get your stock TB off, a file or dremel to modify your stock airhat and a set of standard allen wrenches to install the F&B. I can do the swap in about 15 min... Give yourself an hour (including modifying the airhat)-- 100% new TB, bearings, F&B Billet TB body, blades, etc. 30 Day return policy (don't like it, return for a full refund)+ lifetime warranty.
Fastman TB is a reworked stock TB, and should install per what a stock TB would (with stock mounting hardware + shorter bolts for the TB -intake mount)

Message: Sam, thanks. I think i'll give it a go if it ever stops raining. Since I use the truck daily and weekends for towing; the TB, K&N and exhaust should fill the bill.
