Subject: Questions on mods IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2002 3.9L and was looking to do some simple mods. I know there are a lot of opinions on what is best, but I have a few questions.
Cold Air Intake - What are the best options for this. I have seen many applications of air intakes, some being cold some not. Obviously I would rather have a cold air intake. I have noticed there is even a mopar cold air intake. How well does this work, and is it just like any other cold air intake? Any that are better than others and why?
TB - I have seen many options for this as well. Can you tell me are there many differences between going with a 48mm vs 50mm. I think 50 you have to modify the cables to fit right. But, also what about fuel mileage, does it decrease by going to a larger TB?
And Headers, are they very hard to replace (much work involved)?
Thanks

Message: I believe the mopar CAI is a repackaged version of the K&N.

Message: the mopar was just a little different on some of the brackets but it was made by K&N... plus it had the really cool mopar performance logo on it.... but i believe they quit making the mopar cold air intake.
