Used to run lower 16's and now can get it under
17. And i lost to a stock 5.2L, i mean come on.
I have been taking care of the cap/rotor, oil, belts and so on.......
I was talkin about this with a friend of mine and he thought it might be that i could of lost pressure in the cylinders. I duno what it could be. Its up on 80k now.
I was also wondering about what all would go into getting a supercharger from a junk yard, cause they sell em for like 10, 15 bucks off of older cars. I just wonder what it would be that i would need it to be.
Any ideas, cause 3k for a supercharger is outa my budget, i just want something that boost up the old truck.
now you know thats..................

Before searching for more power on a 80K motor, it woudl be better to freshen it up. Adding a SC on the old bearings, valves and rings isn't the best idea. When we were racing, we rebuilt them every week to keep the car competitive. If you can't build it yourself, get a rebuilt long block and have it installed. Its better to spend the bucks rebuilding it then installing a SC, blowing it and spending the money anyway.

Message: Do a compression test and see what you get. A plugged cat takes lots of power away. A lazy o2 sensor takes away about 15hp.
Bolting on a junkyard supercharger is a whole lot of work, you have to get into different airflow sensors, custom computer programs, a whole new fuel system, new head gaskets, custom mounts, etc.
