Subject: My Dakota heats up IP: Logged
Message: My 99 Dakota heats up. I have replaced the thermostat, the fan clutch, the water pump and I have maintenanced the radiator. The check engine light turns on and it marks the O2 sensor even though I have replaced it twice. Could that be causing my Dakota to heat up?

Message: A blown head gasket will make it overheat and if it's burning coolant it will kill the o2 sensor. Is your coolant level low? Another possability is a stuck closed EGR valve (i'm not sure if 99 Daks have egr though).

Message: ther is a good chance that if its heating up then cooling down over an over again you may have an air pocket in the coolent system
that was my problem
