Subject: oil pan gasket leaks IP: Logged
Message: I have an oil leak in my 1993 dodge dakota sport. It is a v6, and i have concluded that it came from the oil pan gasket. Has any one else had this problem? I think that the problem is that it has low milage, i live in Minnesota (extreme temp changes) and its an older truck. Someone please tell me i am right.

Message: I just fixed a water leak in my timing chain cover. In order to do so, I had to take the oil pan off. I have a oil pan leak now. I used Ultra Copper silicone gasket maker which is supposed to take heat up to 700 degrees. Is this why I have an oil leak. How hot does an engine get? The oil that is leaking seems to be gray colored and pasty looking.
