Message: i would go with a TransGo shift kit. They are the best for our trucks. I sell them on my site and they come with an instructional video on how to install them. If you kind of know what your doing around your truck you shouldnt have too much trouble check it out.

Message: It does make a big difference, if you have enough power you will be able to chirp the tires when it shifts to second. How many miles on your truck? If you have high milage (over 75K) i wouldn't recommend a shift kit since they increase all the pressures in your transmision and if your trans is starting to wear out it will kill it pretty quick. If you have lower milage it will actually double the life of your tranny since it decreases clutch slippage and keeps them from wearing out.

Message: Transgo and B&M make the best shift kits on the market in my opinion. Go with one of those two and you will be fine.

Message: I don't think Transgo has a website, but i did find a site with pictures of their kit being installed on a Dakota R/T. It should give you a good idea of whether or not you can install it yourself or pay someone to do it.
