Subject: 4:10 gears or throttle body?
IP: Logged

Message:
I am debating on what to spend my money on, a new throttle body, or the 4:10 gears. Please keep in mind that i still have the stock 3:21 gears and the stock throttle body. what would be better to invest in? If i got the 4:10 gears, would i notice a big difference in acceleration? thanks for all your help. Brent

unless you have some way of keeping the throttle ports perfectly round, that is, access to a machine shop,it would be best to let someone that has such tools do it. If you get it out of round, the throttle plates, that you will also have to make new as the old ones will be too small, won't fit right and will play he11 with idle and low speed operation.

Tb's have whats called a "torque step", when you port one yourself only grind that out, DO NOT grind anywhere near the butterflies as the Tq step is a bit away from them anyway.
Dont forget to cut the air horns off the top also, they create quite an air damn and to make an S bolt to eliminate the huge air damn that is the OE bolt base.

I have done quite a few now and no one has ever had a better time from a 300+ dollar piece than mine.
