Message: Look at www.speedtweaks.net. They sell blowers for V8's and they can be modified before shipped to fit your Dak. The 3.9 is a 5.2 without 2 cylinders so the blower for the 5.2 fits right on by shortening the intake tube.

Message: Will the supercharger that speedtweeks offers for the 3.9 work on premagum 3.9 engines, or do I have to get a magnum 3.9. Also can I put one of those v8 tbi's on my carberated premagnum motor. I'm trying to get the most out of the engine that I have. If it doesn't work, I'm thinking about doing a swap to a magnum 5.2 318. Either way I want a supercharger. Any help with this info is greatly appreciated.
Thanx again

Message: 87: Nope...it's for MPI systems, not TBI (unfortunately).
Wade: Powerdyne also claimed that their system doesn't work on '95 models...we proved them wrong with Richard Pyburn's '95 5.2L SLT.

Message: Ya but i dont want to buy the powerdyne and then find out it doesnt fit and have to send it back and go through the whole process again. Im really impatient like that he even told me that vortech doesnt make the one for my truck but on speedtweaks i saw it so i really dont know where to go with this whole thing...What other modifications am i goin to need to be able to use this supercharger. My friends are telling me that im goin to need to beef up my transmission and mold the drivline to the pumpkin case since im goin to have over 350 horses..Another question? Is the jet performance chip really goin to do anything besides get rid of my governer?

Message: You'll have more like 250 horses if it's breathing well. No other mods are needed to the drivetrain. 250 horsepower is not really alot of power to hit the drivetrain with so it's strong enough stock. If Bernd says it will fit then it WILL fit. A larger throttle body, headers, free flowing exhaust all compliment a supercharger. Head work, a blower cam, ignition and a supercharger flash for your PCM are good too.

Message: i already have around 250 horses and im expecting around 90 to 100 horses extra with the supercharger thats why i said that i am goin to have about 350 total. Bernd never said that it would fit but on the other hand he never said it would. If he says it will fit i will go ahead and get it and see where i can go from there. I know that 95 and 92 are pretty similar in well...just about everything

Message: Wade: Yes...we custom fab them to fit. Powerdyne had our initial prototype plans but they decided not to build them because of "Supply and Demand"...go figure.
I've built five of them within the last 6 months for V6 owners and they modified to be a direct bolt-on. (BTW; I'm also the owner of SpeedTweaks.)
On the Jet chip removing the speed-limiter, they don't provide that option.
What do you have done to get the 250HP...was this at the rear wheels or crank?

Message: Ok if you custom fit to make them for my truck how much are we talkin about here? I saw the vortech for my truck but that was with the kit that can adapt to it. I like speedtweaks you work fast i bought some jba headers a while ago from you guys and it came within a few days. Im not sure if i have exactly but my friend that has been around cars his whole life with building them and selling them estimated thats what im running. I have msd ignition 6al with msd wires 8.5mm, jba headers, posi trac with 3:55 gears, throttle body spacer, ait intake, msd blaster 2 coil, borla exhaust which gave me noticible power over the flowmaster, 3 inch piping all the way through a brand new transmission with only 10000 miles on it and about 2000 miles on the rear end and i wanna take it to the dyno tog et it tested thats all i can think of about now. I have never been seriously timed on the quarter mile but i think im running from 15 to 16 on a rough estimation. I dont really know the difference about crank or wheel rear i wish someone would tell me, im still a beginner when it comes to this stuff im only 18 and havnet had my license more then a year but that doesnt stop me from racing and showing everybody that dakotas arent as bad as they think

Message: Hey bernd, thanx for the input, I appreciate your help, My next question is can I convert my premagunm engine to a MPI, or even a magnum V6 or is that going to be way to expensive. If need be I'll find a junk magnum v6 and rebuild that, I really want to beef up the engine that I have now. I know that I can get a cam, lifters and valvues for it, and have head work do to it. I'm not to thrilled with NO2 so I don't want to go that route. I also know that there are headers and exust mods that I can do, but I'm really looking for a blower. Is there anyway you can help me out with this. (by the way speedtweaks is a tight sight, you'll be receiveing some orders from me real soon). Thanx again.

Message: Wade: the price on the website includes the modification for the V6. It does delay the S/C delivery time as it is sent to me first for modification and then off to the customer (about 2-weeks instead of 7-10 days).
87Dak: Haven't tried that myself but it wouldn't bee all that hard as long as you have the heads, intake, injection system, and PCM for the "upgrade" year. (There's a bit more to it than that...but those are the basics.)

Message: I pulled up this post looking for some info. Bernd I just e-mailed you about 95 questions about products on your site, but one of them may be answered here. How direct do you mean by "direct bolt-on" I'd like to buy one (eventually), but I can't afford installation from a local shop (my friend just got bent over having one put on his Impalla), and I'm not the best "car-guy" but I have friends who are, and will help. How difficult is it?

Message: Wade,
Your friend probably has the best intentions but you are not running 250hp. From what I've gathered on this site a dakota with a v6 especially the older models get around 100 hp. to the rear wheels. When Bernd is talking about where your getting your numbers crank or Rear wheels you loose a significant amount of engine power from the motor to the tires as the tranny and pumpkin use it up with friction and so forth. I have a fairly un-modded Dak, and at the strip with an Auto I am in the high 17s with 120K on the odo. It always feels faster than it is. Not trying to rain on your parade but ask anyone and it's true.

Message: BigJoe: Take it out of the box and bolt it to the vehicle/engine. You still will need to drill some holes (frame for the fuel pump and firewall for the FMU). Time-wise...count on about 6 hours max with hand tools and never installing one.
