Message: I have a 2000 quad with 61,500 miles. I noticed that it was shifting late and sometimes not at all until I shifted to nuetral then back to drive. It also has stuttered when trying to pass. Local trans. shop says it needs rebuilt or replaced for $1100 to $1500.
Is there something that I could check or do you think it would be wiser and cheaper to go to the dealer. I dont know about warranty since I bought it used last year. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Message: The warranty should be transferable when the truck was sold especially if you bought it from a dealer. If the dealer says no, you may try another dealer. If all else fail have a transmission shop (not ammco)do the work. If you can have a shift kit added as well. Good luck.
