To find out your gear look in one of 3 or 4 places. 1. the glove box, there is a little sticker 2. The driver side door jam, yet another sticker 3. The original manifest that would of been a sticker in the window if bought used 4. somehow use the vin by way or carfax.com or asking around. Hope I was helpful.

did you push the gas pedal down when you launched? you are supposed to brake after the scoreboards...helps times a bit. oh, and take the trailer off the back. oh well, just messing with you...you might have some bad gears in the back, way too tall, try to get at least a 3.55, but a 3.91 would be preferable, get a k&n filter, and an upgraded exhaust system...headers and true dual exhaust is best...only get cats if you have testing in your state, cuz im in florida, and we dont have emissions tests anymore...thank god for Jeb Bush

First off you suck, you have a limited slip diff......I want one. I have the same set up as you except for the fact that I don't have limited slip and mine is a 2000 model. No two trucks are created equal and mine is faster than my buddies Ranger 3.0L and his truck will run a 17.6

8.25 is the ring and pinion diameter in inches, limited slip means both wheels turn together, not just one if you break traction, 3.5 gear means it takes 3.5 turns of the driveshaft to turn the axles around once, the 42RE is the name assigned to your tranny, get a shift kit...with all that you should be able to run faster than that, but only if you knew how to drive

do you have a CC or ext cab? you said both. Why did they limited slip in the 97's but not in the 2001 anyone know? First time I ran my ext cab I got a 18.5 with over a one second reaction time (SUCKS) I just took it back to the trak, havent done anything to it yet except to remove the elbow on the intake and remove the rubber shield, I ran 17.3 with a .2 reaction time. I was happy now to start doing stuff!

Reaction time doesnt affect your ET at all...reaction time is how long it takes you to cross the start line after the lights come on, and the limited slip is a $285 option that your truck probably doesnt have, so thats why they didnt put one in your 2001. To launch in an auto is real easy, you just torque it up then take your foot off of the brake. If you can launch a 5 speed without too much spin, you can launch an auto, and btw...CC (club cab) and extended cab are the exact same thing, just depends on what someone wants to call it
