Message: I have a 1990 Dakota with the 3.9, I love the truck but its so damn slooooo! And I can't find hardly and performance parts for it, everything I find is for 1992+ Dakotas. Is there anything I can do to get this thing to move faster without going to the 318? If you could tell me about some bolt-on hp adders or a site were I could find them at I would really appreciate it.

Message: I found that you best bet is to get a mopar performance catolog and the V-6 performance book. The book will give you some good info on how to hop you engine and give you some parts # of different parts. The only draw back is some of the parts have been discontinued. There are a lot of things that will fit the 318 as well as the 3.9 b/c the 3.9 is just a 318 cut down two cylinders. Some stuff that i can tell you to do is get an open element 14" k&n, edelbrocks shorty headers I'don't know that part # but you can get them out of JEGS or Summit catolog foe about $230. After you get the headers have the exhaust custom bent from the headers back 2" for the Y pipe and 2 1/2" for the intermeate and tail pipe with a good muffler. I've had good luck with ravin sold by Midas.
If you have any more questions E-mail me and i might be able to help you. emt_156@yahoo.com
