I have an 02 dakota rc and have noticed that when i go down my lane to my house i can hear a whole lot of crunching in the front end. My lane is not like off roading but it is not paved either. What is all this crunching noise? It seems to be when i have the brakes on and coming from bushings or something, you can hear it on the outside too. Could it be the sway bar? Also, i have a squeak coming from under the bed, i hear it through my sliding window in the back, it is only when i hit bumps. Is this a bushing problem too? Anyone experience this?

I had a similar problem with my front end. I described more as a "Popping" sound, but it did turn out to be bushings. It was the bushings for the balljoints that went out. Dodge never lubed um up and they eventually had to replace both balljoints. My control arm bushings were done for too and needed to be replaced. Check um out and just take it to the dealership if youre still under warranty. Good luck. -Justin

check ur balljoints, if the boots are broken, then most likely they are dry. my '98 does the same thing so i just spray lubricant until i can get them replaced. as far as under the bed it could be the bed mounts also check ur leaf springs there could be some anti-squeak pads missing in between the leaves.

ok, thanks guys, i'll have the dealer look it over but most of the time i feel i can fix problems better than them. If they can't hook a computer up to it they seem lost!!! oh well!! thanks again
