SOUNDS LIKE YOUR RUNNIN LOW ON OIL OR THE PICK UP TIBE IS GETTING CLOGGED UP. DO YOU CHANGE THE OIL FREQUENTLY?IF NOT, THE BOTTOM OF THE OIL PAN BUILDS UP WITH SLUDGE AND CLOGS UP THE TUBE.WHEN YOU SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, THE SLUDGE RELEASES FROM THE TUBE(NO VACUUM), THEN YOU HAVE OIL PRESSURE UNTIL IT BUILDS UP AGAIN

I had this same problem about a month ago. I lost my engine!!! I would strongly suggest pulling your pan and cleaning your oil pump screen if you can and clean the sludge out of your pan. Maybe even take it somewhere that can flush your engine and try to clean out some sludge that may be up in the engine. I run my truck pretty hard and i must not have changed my oil enough cause it was sludged up really bad and the oil pump quit working going down the highway and burned up my engine. I was lucky enough i have some friends a dodge dealership and they fixed it under my extended warranty even though they may get in alot of trouble for doing it. If your truck is under warranty, more than likely they wont fix it if something goes wrong unless you can get it cleaned out pretty good. I hope this helps and i sure wouldnt want you to go though what i went through. It was a pain in the @$$.

This is a Dodge V6 problem. My mechanic has seen several of these. Should be a recall. Mine started at around 95K. Sounds like you guys are seeing it sooner.

NOT A GOOD IDEA TO USE MOTOR FLUSH.IT SLOWLY BREAKS UP THE REMAINING SLUDGE AND WILL KEEP ON CAUSING THE PICK UP TO CLOG UP.ALSO WASHES THE BEARINGS THEN YOU WILL BE PUTTING IN A NEW CRANKSHAFT.DO NOT RE-USE THE PICK UP TUBE UNLESS YOU ARE SURE IT TOTALLY CLEAN.IT IS A CHEAP PART,NO NEED TO TAKE THE RISK.
