Subject: Aftermarket Coils IP: Logged
Message: I belive I am getting voltage spikes thru my coil as I keep melting brass distribtor caps in 4-6 months. They use to last me about 1.5 years.
Now, I belive I read before that nobody makes a direct plug in coil for our trucks, and very few put out any higher voltage.
Is this true?? What aftermarket coils are you people using, and is their a wireharness adapter so I dont have to hack my wireharness?
Much Thanks!

Message: I've got the Hypertech direct replacement coil and it works great. Been running it now for about a year with Accel brass cap/rotor set--no problems.

I went and searched them. Appears the hypertech claims better spark.
