Message: Hey guys. Is it worth the time and money to get headers for the V6 Dak's? I have a 99 5sp R/C. Can you tell any difference with them on?
Thanks, lil99sport

Message: Definitely YES. However, you won't notice too much of a difference unless the intake side has been taken care of as well: Cold Air Intake and Modified (or stock V8) throttle body.

Message: Thanks for the info Bernd. I've been thinking about headers for a while now. I already have a V8 TB etc, so I might go ahead and get a set. Will there a noticable diff in the lower rpm's?
Thanks again, lil99sport.

Message: I've got a set of JBA ceramic headers on my 2002 V6. I heard that Gibson is now making headers for the 3.9's, but I'm not positive about that. I've also got an Intense intake, F&B throttle body and Dynomax Super Turbo muffler. I suppose it's all helped some, but don't expect any miracles. The biggest benefit to installing headers, IMO, is to get away from the tendency of the Dakotas to snap exhaust manifold studs off at the head...they don't use gaskets, so the manifold has a hard time "sliding" against the head as it heats/cools. Plus, they look really cool, especially the ceramic ones, since they don't turn blue.
