Hi there i have a 1988 dak sport 2wd 3.9 auto. I'm hearing a loud noise coming from the rear end at 120km. I looked at the gear oil in the dif and its very greyish. Could this be causing it?? Also where can i find performance shocks for my dak i wanted the edelbrock ISA shocks but they only mke em for 97 nd up. I need a gud shock for my ride its hittin bumbs very hard. Anyone know of any??? And i dont want to lower it i want to keep it stock ride hight if n e thing raise the back like 1 or 2 inches.

What kind of noise is it?
Dirty fliud could be normal if it hasn't been changed in a while, but if it is silvery and has shiny flakes in it you could be chewing up bearings or gears.
Not sure where you could find shocks for an 88 but you might try Truckperformance.com By the way shocks won't change how high your truck sits.

Look into the Bilsteins Shocks I think you will be much happier with them instead of the Edelbrock IAS shocks As for the rear end problem it may be possibly that the fluid is dirty but if there was a problem with the gears it would be noticable at any speed maybe it is tire noise .Change the old fluid out and run a good syntheic fluid GL-5 I use Mobil Syn Just go too a Lube Shop and have them suck the old fluid out and replace it with new fluid.Hopefully this helps you out.
