Subject: Ignition upgrade? IP: Logged
Message: Hello again.
I have just put a stock cap, rotor along with 3923 autolite plugs on my 3.9 mag. I'm looking at maybe upgrading my ignition a little bit. Truckperformance has an MSD ignition kit. A 6A ignition unit along with taylor 8mm spiro pro custom wires for $223, gains:10HP 15TQ . I would like to also, maybe, upgrade my stock TB. MY question is would the ignition upgrade be suitable for the dollar at this time or would it be better to get the TB first? Also, i'm wanting to upgrade my rear end to maybe a 3.92 or 4.10, any sugestions on these subjects? Thanks

Message: I can't speak to the ignition upgrade as being cost effective to horsepower. I think and someone can correct me, the igntion will smooth out the idle and give you more reliable spark at the top end of rpm. I found the TB upgrade to be the best upgrade for the $s I'm waiting to get Accel 300+ ignition system which is plug and play. good luck in your decision.
