can anyone tell me a site i can go to and find instructions on how to install and recharge my A/C Compressor? I have an idea on what i need to do, but i wanna be positive so i dont mess it up. thanks.

I wouldn't recommend doing it yourself unless you have the know how and necessary tools to do the job. You can install it yourslef but you should take it to an air conditioning shop to have it charged. An air conditioning shop has to pull a vacuum on the system to remove all air and moisture from the system before charging. If this is not done, your system will not perform well and there may be moisture in the system that will freeze up and block the system. Ice in the system can cause very high pressures that could damage your compressor as well as block the refrigerant flow.

lol... you said you got instructions but still looking??
well here... i'll give in. You wont have to go to a a/c shop, most "jiffy lubes" will have a machine to pump the freon out. After thats done you will need to take your belt off. Once the belt is off you are only five bolts away from getting it done. On top of the compressor, there's one bolt that holds the metal lines going into the a/c. Remove that bolt (at this point you will find out if they did a good job evacuating the freon). One you remove the line, there are four bolts that hold the compressor down to the a/c bracket. Remove those four bolts and pic up the compressor... thats it.

except you forgot to tell me to change out the accumulator/dryer because condensation can get into your system once its opened up and also the filter if there is one in the system...but thanks...as for the multiple thanks yous in this post...i dunno wtf happened...damn...

glad you figured all that out... but i did answer the question in the topic.
did you get it done? besure to have a shop charge the system and dont just try to fill it with those little cans from the autoparts store

also, you will need a special little tool to disconnect the "quick connects" on the a/c lines. They are cheap and sold by the set.

well...if u didnt see the post already in the general forum...i ended up buying an R/T...lol...go figure, once i get a compressor i get a new truck...oh well, ill jus sell that now too...heh...but thanks for the help.
