I have a 2000 3.9L automatic. I was wonderin if anyone has changed the colum shifter to an on the floor shifter. How hard was it? I couldn't find any posts on the subject. Thanks !!!!!

well i did.

Easy part was mounting the shifter to the floor. Hardest part is building a custom bracket for the Cable to mount to the tranny... not the shifter lever, but for the cable to have something to pull against.

Hey intense, which shifter did you put on. I was at the store looking at different ones today, and yeah I know I'd have to custom it somehow, but I noticed the model was only for like 79-91 and it depended on which tranny I had. Not quite sure on my tranny model number, where could I find that?

the B&M shifters the fit the 727 and 904 will work on ours... ours is just a 904 with an overdrive and wires..

check out the May 2003 issue of Car Craft.. they install a B&M shifter on a 68 Barracuda.

i got it in the mail but their website (www.carcraft.com) is only showing the march issue online... crap

Well put a bid on a B&M Quicksilver on ebay. Hopefully will get it for 20 bucks. No bottom cover and no cable so I'll have to figure a few things out, but I know I can go buy a cable. Prolly have to clean it up some too, anyone know a good chrome cleaner?

for $20 i say get it. Just get a t-handle for it and new base and cable. You can aquire all those parts at B&M's website... not sure what it is.. might just be www.b&m.com - not sure
