hey fellow Dakota owners, got a big famous question for ya, I have the 99 3.9 V6 ext cab and want to put either a turbo or S/C on it, I don't care which, the only reaon I'm still debating which one is my wallet. I can't spend more than 1000 on it, preferably less. Intensdak said he had a turbo for 500, how the hell? Please help guys!

Your not getting either for under $1000. Sure you can pick up just a turbocharger for under $1000. You can get used ones dirt cheap on ebay, but to make it work you have to know how to fabricate parts, plus you have to spend money on new injectors, oil lines, cooling lines, etc. And you have to do it right and take everything into account or you can really mess up your engine. The supercharger would probably be the easiest of the two to hook up but plan on spending a few grand.

can't do that, must spend less or the wife will surely kill me!! I know it can be done and I have no prob fabricating parts, I just need to know specifics and cost of parts, what brands and sizes.

it can be done but you have to have the hook up on a lot of parts... like i got my injectors for free and a lot of parts from friends real cheap. But i saved most by doing the work myself
taking off the turbo and selling it if interested... would take some work to get it hooked up and running though
