Subject: Lifting a 2wd 89 Dakota IP: Logged
Message: I can't find anyone who has a body lift for an 89 Dakota 2wd. Does anyone know why? Is it possible to lift these trucks. My son has tires that just need a little more clearance and he would like to lift it 2". We can do the work but not unless we can get parts. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Message: No body lifts are available becuase you need an extended steering shaft. You can modify the lifts for 4WD though. There is a suspension lift though. Rough Country 2 inch, coil spacers and add-a-leaves. I had a shop install mine and everyone says its a pain. You usually have to trim the coils to get only bout 1 1/2 inch in the front. What size and kind of tires u got? I can fit 30x9.5 with some rubbing on sharp turns. Good luck
