What would you do? I have a `99 RC 5-speed with a K&N FIPK & a Flowmaster. I want some more balls for my 6er! It is a daily driver, so I'm wondering on reliability. Does anyone have specs on how much HP increase the TB & charger have?

Hi Yellowtruck! I have a '99 R/C 5sp that's yellow also. I've yet to see another R/C Dakota that's yellow. I've seen a few extended cabs but not a R/C. Just thought it was neat to hear of someone else who has one.

Don't know about a supercharger, but I installed a V8 TB on my truck and it made a world of difference. I was really impressed and for a mere $50 it was by far the best mod yet.

Hope this helps, lil99sport

ditto...most people I have talked to have said its not worth it because you only get the boost in the high RPM's...apparently turbo would be the way to go because you get constant boost...somebody correct me if I'm mistaken

For now, stick with the throttle body.

Hey Ryan, I'm interested in a Supercharger, I already have a v8 Tbi unit, on my 92 engine. I want a S/C to complement my N20 and stroker kit that I'm interested in.

born2steel21, I hate to correct people, but you got your info backwards. The supercharger gives constant boost because it is belt driven and always spinning at a high rate. On the other hand, turbo chargers run off exhaust gas and need to spool up, so they only work really good in the high rpm range because you need a lot of airflow to get them moving.

00dak,

sorry buddy but your wrong too... it all depends on the s/c... now considering the only ones that work on the V6 are paxton, vortec and powerdyne... i know for a fact that those build more boost as the rpms increase (centrifical). I had a powerdyne on my truck and it was a waste... now i have a turbo and it blows that thing out of the water... The right matched turbo gives boost off the line and full boost right after. Everyone talks about turbo lag and how its so bad... turbo lag is for diesels, not for me. At 2500 rpms i make full boost (7.5 lbs wastegate regulated) under WOT in the intake manifold... at most, i got 4 lbs with a 7lb pulley at 5000 rpms with the powerdyne

Turbocharged V6
