Subject: stage1 or stage 2?? IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering if i should install a stage 1 or 2 in my 93 dakota. I'm looking for an increase in HP and low end TQ on my 3.9 mag. Would this help or hurt my performance? Also, what else would be a good choice for this modification?
93 dakota 3.9 magnum,auto, K&N FIPK, Dynomax super turbo cat-back 2.75" pipe.

Save your money and get a 46mm FastMan TB

Or use a stock V8 TB

Message: You could be looking at about 15 rwhp with a good throttle body.

Message: I really don't know as far as HP but i would really like for the TQ to be close to 300ft lb if possible. I pull a 2500lb bass boat up and down alot of hills. The truck is stock except for the k and n FIPK system and a dynomax superturbo cat back. I never have heard anyone using a different TB! i'm going to try and get doug thorely headers along with the mandrel bend Y pipe. Will this accomadate the engine for better pulling power? Is headers and Y pipe worth adding to my cat back or do I need to add something else for less bucks with more HP/TQ gains???

You don't want headers if you want low end TQ on a V6. Do some searching here you will find that most that have put them on see little if any gains at all, some have even lost some low end with them.
Your 93 may all ready have the bigger manifolds that was the early years for the 3.9 Magnum after that year Dodge made them smaller.
If your after pulling power change gears if you have 3.55 or 3.23's go to 3.91 or 4.10's

Message: Billy;
You're not going to come close to 300lb-ft of torque without a super charger. For your use, install a TB like the Fastman or a F&B. Then put in 4.10 rearend gears. DO NOT waste your money on headers or the Y-pipe, they will give some more HP but at the sacrifice of torque below about 2300RPM. The gears will be by far your best bang for the buck.
