I put the autolite plugs in over the weekend and gapped them at .040. Well, now the truck does not seem to be accelerating as well or pulling like it used to with the factory plugs. Was wondering if anyone else experienced poor performance with the 3923's. I have a homebrew cold air, TPS readjust, IAT relocate but put it back to factory cause of gas consumption. Do you think a tornado fuel saver would make the truck run worse, cause i put one in for giggles and i think it is blocking my airflow. I'm not gonna do the t-stat, can't afford to put premium in all the time. I'm getting a flowmaster 50 soon and want to chip it, any suggestions for chips? I'm real tempted to put it all back to factory and not worry about it, its getting frustrating.

You don't say what year truck you have, but I've heard that the 3923's cause some trouble in a lot of the newer trucks. DakotaDan tried them out in his 2001, and switched back to the Champions. Ditto with the IAT relocate and TPS mod. I've got a 2002, and I'm not doing any of those. There's a reason why the engineers at DC (or any other manufacturer for that matter), get paid good $$...they know what they're doing and why, for the most part. Yeah, some of this stuff works, and maybe some of it works for awhile, but I've found that the gains are marginal and the prospect for trouble increases radically when we start messing with factory set parameters, part locations and all that other stuff. I've got an F&B, Intense intake, JBA headers, Dynomax muffler, and I'm set to install Crower 1.7 rockers and MSD wires. With all this, my gains so far have been barely noticeable. I'm convinced that unless you're ready to go whole-hog and dump a lot more money into an engine than a few bolt on's will cost, you're better off just leaving the thing stock. It ain't worth the returns for dollar spent, and that's my 2 cents...

yeah, it seems like when you first do the stuff, the truck runs great i guess cuase the computer is learning the new settings but after awhile it adjusts. I think the only thing i'm gonna keep is the intake(cause i made it) and still gonna go with flowmaster single out cat back and maybe a chip and that is gonna be it!!! I agree with you those people at DC getting paid big bucks. If the suggestions for these mods were so great why wouldn't they come factory like that? Don't get me wrong, i'm not calling anyone on here a dummy, but my warranty keeps flashing through my head and what potential headaches i could be facing.
