Message: I put one in my dakota and it might help me get a mile or two more, but the overall performance of the truck sucks now. It does not accelerate or pull like it used to before i put it in and i have the basic mods done on my truck. I think the tornado fuel savers restrict your airflow, and totally make a cold air intake useless.

Message: I made one instead of buying one.
The low end torque was better and around town had better mileage.
Highway mileage was much worse.
I took it out.

Message: I have a 92 dodge 5.2 magnum 4x4 with auto, K&N and 70 series flowmaster. I tried the tornado on it no noticable change. I also have a 1993 dodge dodge shadow 2.5 and auto. I install a msd5 some improvement in performance. I noticed a big improvement installing a K&N air filter, then installed a tornado also, this made additional improvement in power and 2 mpg over gain by the add on's. The greatest gain were in power, runs like a v6 instead of a 4.

Message: due to the fact that several years before the CAFE standards went up, the Tornado hit the market, then when they actually went up major engineering and computer changes had to be made by all the auto mfgs. at a large and considerable cost to meet this new standard, not one mfg. made the tornado, which he could have bought relatively cheaply, standard on the cars and trucks they produce, I have to severly doubt the thing works. remember boys and girls they are made out of about 50 cents worth of thin stamped metal and held together with spit and bailing wire,,,, and they sell for how much??????

Message: Tornado fuel savers and TB spacers, both are items created to take one's money, but provide no benefits. The spacer though may help on a carburated or throttle body injected motor (87-91). SMPFI, forget it (92-present).

Message: I participate not only in this discussion board but also on an Cadillac board, and a Mercedes Board. The Tornado Fuel saver seems to come up on all of them. The general concensus is that they are not worth the metal they are made of. Basically, they restrict airflow and therefore your engine will use less fuel so as not to run too rich. It MAY cause you to get slightly better fuel mileage but will also significantly reduce your power output also.
