Subject: Cold Starting? IP: Logged
Message: My 93 Dakota will only sputter when I try to start it in the mornings, yet it has no problem starting later in the day after it warms up. What could be the problem, I have changed the filter?

Message: Do the early 90's dodges have cold start injectors? That could be part of the problem if it has one, but i'm not sure when dodge used them.

Message: I have no idea if they are equipped with cold start adapters. All I know is the thing will not start in the morning but fires up immediately once the temperature outside warms up (Arkansas). After it starts it runs fine, no sputtering. When I changed the filter, I turned the key on to make sure the fuel pump was working and it shot gas out about 2 feet from the fuel line. But after hearing that the fuel pressure should be from 39 to 49 psi, how far should it have shot out? 5 or 6 feet?

Message: Well, that didn't work. Still having a hard time starting even though the temperature outside is warming up in the mornings. Any other suggestions?

Message: I'm having the exact same problem. I've already replaced all the vacuum lines and the problem still persists... my problem didn't begin until after I replaced the head gasket. Was there a resolution found? Looks like it didn't work for him...

Message: i have an 87 carbed and this morning when I hopped in it and tried to pump the gas pedal it was really stiff. I tried to start the truck and it cranked really slow and wouldn't start. Later in the day I tried to start it and everything was fine and fired right up like it always does. Was the carb frozen or what was going on there?

Message: power dist box under hood
get 1 new relay they are all the same
ASD, fuel pump
or take the A/C relay and change them around
if the problem is solved get 1 new relay
there is a mechanical contact in these relays and
they do go bad its just a set of contacts inside
they are activated by a small coil creating a
electro magnet to enguage them they can also go
bad
mark them so you know what you switched around
they are all identical 30 amp relays
