Subject: guage faceplate IP: Logged
Message: I posted like 2 weeks ago or so about this but when i put my face on my guages and pull the needles, i am very concerned with how the speedometer and tachometer rest on pins. If i pull them off, will the shaft spin out of place since the needles rest on pins? all the other needles go all the way down so if i just put them back on in the same place I took them off i'll be ok, but the speed and tach is what worries me. any input would be greatly apprectiated!!

Message: ccman,
i recenlty replaced my guage faceplate with an aftermarket one, when i installed the new faceplate, i left the dash apart, filled my gas tank to full to set the gas guage correctly, with the oil pressure and engine temp, i knew where they always were, so i ran the truck down the road for a bit then just stuck them where they should be. as far as the speed and tach, i didnt have any problems with those i just turned the truck on so the rpm guage would be set back, then gently pushed the needle back on, and same for the speed odometer. it seems to be working fine since and i did this about 4 or 5 months ago. i hope this helps in any way
