Subject: gauges (help) IP: Logged
Message: My son just got a 1998 2wd dakota from his step grandfather with only 24000 miles on it and we are starting to do some custom things to it. What he is really wanting is a tach(the truck is a base model with a V-6, 5spd, air cond. and no tach) We are wondering if anyone knows where we could find replacement gauge panel with a tach that we could replace the current gauges with. My son is 14 and he is really into Dakota's just like dad. (I have a 97 cc 4X4 5.2 3" lift 33x12.50-15 tires 15x10 weld sidewinders and a few other goodies) any info would be welcome.

Message: 14??? When I was learning to drive, I had to be 16 to get my license. Has that changed and I never heard about it? I'm not that old (24) but never heard the drving age went down to 14.

Message: Depends on where you live. here in NY you need to be 16 for a permit and 17 for a license. Dude is still lucky to get that truck at 14 or 16

Message: In maine you have to be 15 to get your permit, you must have your permit for 3 months, and you must be 16 to get you license. You must have your license for 3 (maybe going up to 6 soon) months before you can have anyone outside of family in the car.

Message: No he,s not driving yet but he wants to have somethings done by the time he starts. The age in delaware is 16 if you go through drivers ed and have good grades. By the way he is making payments on his truck with some help from me and he has a part time job in our family resturant.
