like the tittle says i got a new jet chip stage 2 now i want to install it but i dont want to Ferk it up u know. Im wondering if someone can pinpoint me where to put it in and maybe some pictures if posible and colors of parts. :) the other thing is i know it takes a higher octane of fuel. has anyone stuck with 87 and it has worked for them?? reason is i live in CA and gas here on avereage is 2.05 a gallon and thats for 87 not the higher end. Were at the top gas prices here in bay area. But i will go with 89 or 91 if i have to but how should i do it.. Should i run a full tank with higher octane ..run that fuel out then when i refill then install the chip?? or should i try with 87 and see how that goes. And how will i know if im using the right gas? will the truck not start?? will it make loud noises(the engine that is) will it stall and need more gas intake?? anything else that might help on this subject please add i really apreciate the help guys/ladies.

I just put mine in too so here's what I did:

passenger side between the air box and fender you will see 3 plugs (you might want to remove the airbox I did it without but it was a pain)Remove positive battery cable.
The harnesses are colored white grey and black, unplug the black one and put the modual between the connection,(it will only fit one way) put the airbox back on, then the battery cable on, start up and let idle for a couple minutes it may be wierd but it will go back to normal. Btw
I filled up with premium prior to install cause the engine may experience pinging (due to the spark advance)so I don't know if you can run 87.
One more thing I noticed she ran a little warmer than before so I definatly recommend the 180 thermostat Robert Shaw is the one to get (I haven't changed mine out yet cause it hasn't gotten warmer than -15C so the extra heat is welcomed here. Whole project took 10 minutes.
Let me know how it performs after install(There's so much snow on the ground here it's hard to really let'er rip, although I did notice A nice pull from around 2500--5000RPM.

Hope this helps!

Current mods:
Jet Stage 2
Bosch Platinum +4's
Drop in K&N
Custom Ram Air

Soon...
Catback dual exaust
180 thermostat

Nope, I got the 3.9l V6. BTW I couldn't spin my tires when I first got the truck with a brand new filter But after the k&n and plugs I could get some nice wheel spin off the line and I have the anti spin diff. Do that tune up soon I hear the cap and rotor should be replaced every 40k I'm sure you will feel a big difference.
Good Luck!
