Message: I just installed a factory cruise on my 99 Dakota and it works fine the only problem i have is the light in the dash that is supose to come on when you push the button on the steering its no big deal but it would be nice to have. I checked and the light is there. I went to two dealers and they said it has to be programed in. they said it would cost about $75.00 to hook up there thing and do it.A friend of mine has a Snap On programer but cant get it to do that. It wont show op on his unit. Is there any way to get that light to work without paying $75.00 or $85.00

Message: I also have a 99 V6 cc auto, and I had the dealer install the factory mopar cruise control about a year after I bought the truck and my light has worked since day 1. If it's the mopar unit it should work perfectly, I would take no BULLSH#T from anyone telling me that to get the light to work I would have to have it programed(?) for 75 more $.
I paid 397$ installed and it works like it came from Detroit that way.

Message: I put the Mopar package cc in my 2000 dak about a year ago. I just accepted the light never work unless you had the dealership do it...but I saved $200 doing it myself and it works fine.

Message: I had the cc added as part of the purchase. It looks like the mopar one and the dash light works with it, but I was told at the time it was aftermarket. Done at a Dodge dealer though...

Message: I did install this myself at home its a stock unit I bought from afar away dealer and put it in myself and it works fine but was told the light wont work unless I take it to the dealer to have the light programed in. Did Andrew say his light don't work either cause he installed his himself. Thanks for the input.

Message: Hey Fred i installed factory cruise on my 99 and had the same problem as you, but i also installed it on my 02 and the light worked since day 1 so i guess it had something to to with the programing on the 99s never did get it turned on.

Message: Its very easy to install on a 99 I dont know if they made any changes on the later model.FIRST OF ALL DISCONECT YOUR BATTERY THEN WAIT A COUPLE OF MINUITS you will have to pull the stearing wheel and replace the clock spring and scew the switches to the steer wheel and go to the right hand side of the fire wall theres a conector already there you have to take the cap off it thats a little pain to do. the holes are already in the firewall to hook up the unit then route you linkage and hook it up and hook your battery back up. Youll save a lot of money if you can buy it right and do it your self

Message: Did it on my 02, had to pull the steering wheel, also the plastic cover that goes behind the steering wheel does not come with the kit, have to order it seperately, but a very easy install
