Message: The honest answer is 'it depends'.
I recommend Sea Foam, available at NAPA for under $6

Used properly, this product works with no ill effects.

Message: I am sure some on this board won't agree, but I have used Slick 50 oil and fuel additives since the mid 80's an all my cars/trucks. I don't know if they increased my MPG or not but i do know I have had all of them go over 100k miles and didn't use a drop of oil between changes. I use the fuel cleaner with every oil change every 3000.miles and haven't had any problems with the fuel system either. I am not stupid enough to drain the oil and keep running the car to see if the stuff does what the adds say it will.
About a year ago I switched from Castrol GTX to Mobile 1 oils, and am quite happy with them. My 2003 Dak SXT is coming up on it's first oil change and I am undecided about the Slick 50 in it. I will most likey not put in in on the first oil change and will go with the Mobile 1 . but i will use the feul sytem additives from the first oil change. her are a couple of examples
87 Mazda 626 187K miles and 12 years
80 Chevy pick up 170K miles
94 Sable 118K miles(everthing esle had to be replaced but the engine was in good shape when i traded it. I'll never buy another ford product)
I currently have a 99 Nissan Sentra and 99 Toyota Corolla ( and My New Dakota) both have recieved Slick 50 and I have had no problems with them. Sorry this is so long and kind of sounds like a add for Slick 50 .

Message: I read an article not too long about that actually PROVED Slick 50 was a complete rip-off and maybe even did more harm than good. If I can find the article again I'll post it for you. I know my friend swears by it, but after reading that article there was no way I was gonna waste my money.

Message: I have seen some articles that say the same thing. I can say for sure the slick 50 help my cars last as long as they did , but they did. I can't see where it did any harm. however it can get expensive. I do know that when the feul stuff goes in the idle smooths out alot, the cars run much better.
