I've go an 88 dak that i'm turning into a project.
I want to put a 318 in the truck. I saw this months issuse of hot rod and saw their junk yard jewel 318 and the 400 ponies it made. I'm on a budget and can do something like that engine. My question is will the frame and rear end hlod up to that kind of power? I'm not worried about the tranny b/c i found that the guy that sells the fastman t-bodies also sell an a-500 the will hold up to 500hp. If the rear end will not hold up what can i use that will work and if the frame will not hold up what can be don to it to beef it up???

I have an 87 and i was thinking of putting a 318 in it. i heard the 3.9 is like a 318 with 6 cylinders. so will the trans bolt up or is there an adapter kit ? any help would be appreciated . Thanks
