Does anyone take their intake off during real cold winter months? My truck seems like it takes a lot longer to warm up and doesn't run the greatest first thing in the morning. Could this be from the intake? Not too much of a problem when it is warmer. I don't have the IAT relocated yet. I'm sure if I do that i will have to put it back to factory in the winter. Also, if i do the IAT relocate, is it ok to cut the wires to splice them so i can lenghten the wires?

The air intake has very little to do with the engine warming up. Its a simple matter of warming up a 30 degree or a 70 degree engine. There is a lot of metal and water/antifreeze to get heated and just takes time to heat it all to 180-190 degrees. The only other thing to check is that thermostat is working properly.

that is true! The truck is brand new, i guess i was just expecting too much from a new truck. It has been cold lately!! The truck seems to shutter a little too for the first 2-3 minutes, the cold probly has a lot to do with that too. thanks

if his truck is carborated having the air intake removed will VERY MUCH affect cold wheather warm up. for those of you whom are old enough- remember heater stove pipes from the exhaust manifold to the air intake?
