Would Swaping my TBI System for a carb. help my performace/mpg as they both suck(HP is more important then mpg)

The earlier pre-magnum engines share the same basic bottom end and block, so the kit would fit the block with no problem.
The horsepower of these engines is in the cylinder heads and intake manifold and MPI fuel injection system.
For a pre-magnum engine, the kit won't provide the horsepower your looking for, and a intake for a 3.9 of that vintage that accepts a carb was made, but will be hard to find.
My advice for any of the early TBI 3.9'S, SWAP THE 3.9 FOR A V8 WITH A CARB AND DO AWAY WITH THE COMPUTER CONTROLLED V6, Or step up to a newer model Dakota with a magnum engine.
THERE'S A LOCAL GUY HERE WHERE I LIVE WHO TOSSED A MAGNUM CRATE 360/300 WITH A 600CFM HOLLEY IN A
LATE 80'S OR VERY EARLY 90'S PRE-MAGNUM DAKOTA, AND THAT THING RUNS LIKE STINK.........COST HIM LESS THAN 10K TO BUILD THE DAKOTA TOO!!!

If the engine is the same bacis engine, why wouldnt the kit hit the same HP as the mag engines? Due to the heads??? Thanks

What year would this stoker kit work on. i have a 98 dakota 5sp 2wd reg cab that i just got because i wrecked my neon on xmas vacation. cuz im tired of these damn ricers in my town and i wanna kick there _____ ( fill in the blank) right now i have no mods to the truck and what other mods would u ppl recommend??

Gibson Headers, Gibson Dual Sport Exhaust, Stage 1 Jetchip, 180 Degree T-stat, 3.92 Sure Grip Rear end, Underdrive Pully, V8 50mm Throttle Body, 1.7 RR, cold air intake, MSD ignition -- Pretty much my wish list. I already have a K&N drop in(wow) and new plugs and wires.

Just an update as to where we stand on the 3.9 Stroker............
As of right now we are still waiting to see when we can get the first prototype crank built..
The company that was going to help with producing the crank, got a contract for retooling a factory according to one of my partners.
It appears that it may be a while till we can get rolling on this with them. As they were going to
supply us with the cranks at a cost that would make it possible to offer the kit affordably.
I'm hopeful that we can continue with this project in the near future.........
