VERY SIMPLE!!!!

1.Remove steering cowls held in by 2 or 3 screws from the bottom.
2.Once removed, u will see a wire with a little tiny socket by the ignition switch. Turn that socket 90 degrees and replace the bulb. Should be like a #74, or #37 bulb
3. Reverse removal for installation!

That was simple! If I had known that when I bought the truck a year ago I would have done sooner. Thanks,
I took out the light buld but it doesn't look like it's burnt out, it doesn't even look used. I will replace the buld later on today and see what happens. Thanks a bunch

I changed out the light buld, but it still doesn't work. maybe not getting power???? how do you check that????

Mddak-- The light I am referring to is right around the ignition. I think all dodge cars have them?? I'm not sure though, my grandfathers 95 dodge does, along with his 98 dodge caravan.

Damn! I always wondered if mine was supposed to light up! i always noticed it was clear around there, but mine never lit. but a while back i saw another kota that his lit up! is there maybe a fuse that isn't connected in those that don't light? it's pretty cool and i always wondered if i could make mine light up. I'll have to look at the fuses or something.

I remember reading somethin' 'bout it in the owners manual. I think it's only works if you have some certain option. I'll have to look again.

certain option?
Mine works and I have a '91
Only suggestion I have is to check the wiring. Try unplugging the harness to the column and cleaning the contacts.

Just looked it up in my 99's manual - it only has that light hooked up if you have power door locks - part of the "illuminated entry" feature.
