Subject: '98 Stock Throttle Cable Length IP: Logged
Message: I need to know how much slack (free play) is in the stock throttle cable, as attached to a stock throttle body.
Easy way to check:
1. On the throttle body, find the cable that goes to the pedal (a metal clip attaches it to the TB linkage).
2. Hold the cable at the little rubber dust boot - position your grip so your fingernails just rest against the dust boot.
3. Pull the cable out of the sheath until it stops - you won't need to pull hard.
4. Measure the distance of free cable that you pulled out (distance from your fingernails to the dust boot). That's the amount of slack I need to know.
Thanks in advance!
