I have a 1997 v6, it has had a weird idle problem for about a year or more. It idles fine when driving, but put it in park or neutral and it almost dies then it corrects itself and idles fine, it is like its is lost for a few seconds! I have been testing things, so far everything I have tested looks good. Here is the thing I found today, I replaced the pvc valve with a new one,(the old one was stuck) I left it off for a few minutes just letting the tube suck outside air while running and the truck didn't idle weird, put the new one on and stuck it in the hole and it idled weird again???? I also tried unplugging the three way solenoid perg valve, took a drive, and it didn't change the way the truck ran, and didn't give me any codes. Shouldn't unplugging this make it run bad,or do something? Any help would be appriciated. Thanks.

Try the IAC valve on the back of the throttle body. Remove it and clean the seat on the throttle body. You might take the TB off to clean it and replace it's gasket. Good luck.

My 99 does the same thing. It seems like it is about to stall then it recovers. It does not always do it, and sometimes it is more noticable than others. Let us know if you figure out the problem. I haven't had the chance to try and figure out the problem yet, it's too dam cold out.

Thanks for the suggestion Deep Purple, but I have already replaced the IAC valve, it was dirty. It is cold here too JakDak. If yours is doing the same as mine, someone must know what the problem is. Lets hope someone can help.
