Message: Okay, I have mentioned this before but for those who don't know I am in the Air Force stationed in England. Over here cars usually don't have more than a 2 liter unless you are rich because gas (for civilians) is $5.00 a gallon. 125 horsepower is like a hotrod to them. Anyways, I had to get my truck front end aligned and they don't have many trucks in this country so I had to find a place that worked on tow trucks and haulers, and whatever. So I pull up to the front next to a British guy who is washing one of the companies trucks and he is just looking at me. So I tell him that one of the guys that worked there told me to park there because I thought he was going to say something. Instead he says "I wasn't going to say anything. I was just listening to your pickup!" , and proceed to imitate the rumble of my Flowmaster. I get alot of compliment from British people but this one was probably the best so far.

Message: That's cool! Did you take the truck over there with you? Where in England are you stationed? I was born near Staffordshire, my father was a squad leader (flew Spitfires & Mosquitoes) in the war.

Message: Yes, I bought it in Texas where I went to Aircraft Electrical tech school. I am stationed at RAF Lakenheath which is a fighter base that consists of F-15C and F-15E's. The base is about 75 miles north of London. I like it alright. It's snowing like crazy right now. Burrrr...

Message: Hey boss,
I am in the Navy(no side comments..please) and was stationed in London, UK with the Seabees. I was told not to bring my truck cuz there is nowhere to get repair parts...needless to say, I wish I would've. A nice to drive up to Northern England in a Dak....that would be a killer military experience!!!! I loved my posting in England, however, how about you? Cheers!!!!

Message: There are several British mechanics that specialize in American vehicles and are certified to do warranty work. England is pretty the cool and I enjoy driving my truck here.

Message: Is it expensive over there to live do you know? rent and all that, I am in university and might be getting a cool summer job next year. I don't think I will be able to bring my dak over though, with shipping and all that.

Message: Hey Brad...depends on where you want to live. I was 2 blocks from Oxford street in Central London and paid (when exchange rate was decent) about $1300 for a 1 bedroom, small ass apartment. But, thanks to the Navy, I was reimbursed very nicely for housing costs. Everything is small, so, I'd suggest not bringing American furniture...may not all fit. Like I stated earlier, a lot has to do with the exchange rate..you know American dollars are weak in Europe. Any more questions???Mopar or no car!!

Message: Hey cbsdakota,
Im flightline. This is my first duty station. Ive been outta tech school for about 6 months. It kinda sucks trying to safetywire a ACM drainplug while a 20 mph below zero windchill factor is freezing you a$$off. Working in the middle of the night while all the backshop boys are at home in their warm beds. One of the guys I knew in tech school is backshop here. I think they also porform phase inspections. Not too sure though. Take it easy for now.
