Will your gas mileage go down when you install the IAT sensor mod and put on a v8 throttle body. And if it does go down, will an FIPK bring it back up?

and one more ?. do flex fans werk.

I am not a mechanic or an automotive engineer, but I don't think that it's necessarily true that if you strive for more power then gas mileage automatically goes down. If your motor is breathing easier, then mileage would go up, wouldn't it? The way that Dodge has the V-6 plugged up, particularly on the air intake side, it's like running a marathon while breathing through a straw. I know that by the end of the race I'd have used a lot less energy if I'd spit out the straw at the start line.

As for the IAT, the motor is a lot more responsive and runs a lot smoother after the relocation. I can't see how a better running motor would negatively affect mileage.

Of course, if you use the better efficiency for faster starts and higher average speed..., but no one posting here would do that.

It looks like my MPG has gone down a bit. I am doing a test now on a full tank. I will update this when I have the data. I have a pretty good idea of what I was getting, about 17 0r 18 MPG before I did any mods. The reason I think it has gone down may be because my foot is depressing the gas peddle a little more since the TB Swap (LAST WEEK). So in a nut shell, I don't know yet.

With simple intake, exhaust and ignition mods, under the same circumstances, your MPG will go UP. When you have an engine that is breathing better and has good spark, the engine can use the fuel more efficiently. For example, cruising at 60, the unmodded truck will have to work harder and use more fuel to stay there than a modded one. If the unmodded truck is not burning 100% of the fuel, it is waisting fuel by putting a demand for X amount of fuel and using only a portion of it. With a good breathing engine and a hot spark, you can use less fuel and have more power at the same time.

Yeah, Yeah i would imagine that your engine would be more efficiant then. It would use the same amount of gas as before, but put it to use by actually igniting the gas instead of spitting it out the exhaust.

One thing that i KNOW hurt my gas mileage was when i cut of my catty conv. It deoped like two points.
