My question is as follows, I have recently purchased a 92 magnum v6 for my 87 Dak, and I want to bolt it up to my AX15 tranny, on the back of the magnum block there is a sensor, which I beleive is the crank postion sensor. Will my bellhousing from the premagum V6 tranny work with this motor, and if so do I have to make a groove for this sensor. Thanks in advance to all who respond.

I dont beleive your 87 came with an ax-15, did it? If it did, you can just make a grove in the housing for the sensor no problem. The crank position sensor attaches to the block and reads off the flywheel, so the notch doesnt have to be too exact..just big enough to fit the sensor through

i,m not sure i follow you but let try.your installing a mag. motor in a pre.mag. truck.so what are you going to do about fuel and timing?mag. motors intakes are different,plus the 87 is carb.and different computer,you can put the pre mag. heads on the mag. by drilling a hole in the motor so the rockers can get oil.the motor have a dimple on each side where the holes would be if it was a pre.mag.do amild port job and put the intake and dist. from your 87 motor.put a mp dist. ignition kit for LA motors and change the v8 relector to slant6 relector in the dist. and put a 318 2bbl. carb.on you can remove the computer now.it will be faster,more power, better gas mileage,simpler.hope this helps.yes the mag. will bolt to your bell housing.

I already have the computer and the wiring harness for both the engine and instrument cluster, I just needed to know if the Bellhousing from my premagnum Ax15 will work with the magnum engine, cuz I see a sensor that is on the rear of my magnum engine near the distribitor. Oh and by the way all dakota v6 trucks use the Ax15 trannies.Thanks for the suggestion with the conversion, but I want the fuel injection so I can run a sic N20 set up.
