can someone please tell me what an s bolt is and what it does? i see it listed in some peoples mod list and i have no clue what it is or does?

All 3.9L V6, 5.2L V8, and 5.9L V8 engines have an air hat which is located above the throttle body. The air hat is attached using a large plastic nut and a 1/4" rod which runs through the middle of the air hat and attaches to the throttle body below. In order to center this rod, a small rectangular plate hangs over the throttle body's openings, disrupting air flow. By using an angled rod, you can remove this plate and increase air flow into the engine, resulting in about 5hp.
Here's the actual measurements. You'll need about 12" of 1/4"x20 rod from your local Home Depot. (The reason for the 12" is in case you make a few mistakes...this leaves you extra material for practice.)

This is the first time I have heard of this mod. I would also like to know if you can feel a power increase. Five horsepower seems like a lot for somethin so easy. Thoughts??

lets be realistic guys, by putting on an S bolt you aren't goin to get 5 HP, otherwise dodge itself would do it. It will only help the engine to run smoother, not perform better.

Somethin us 3.9 guys need cuz of our poor idling. I think I'll try this mod out. My Dak could use a little help on running smooth anyway.
