Message: might be since its 13 years old that the engine is just worn out, also that old of a 3.9 was rated at 125 hp. so don't expect too much out of it since it ain't got much to give.

Message: I have a 90 v6 3.9 and i had 2 problems with acceleration. One turned out to be the uv joints on the drive shaft. But that also was occompanied by vibration. ANd the other was a bad catalytic convertor. WHen i got that replaced it made a big difference in acceleration.I too thought my trans was going out.
