Subject: Cruise Control IP: Logged
Message: I have a 92 that didn't come with cruise control and I was wondering if there is an easy way other than the old brick method to put cruise control on this truck.
Thanks, MuckMuck

Message: Mess around with the controles. I just randomaly started hitting buttons and it came on. But I am not to fond of it, it doesn't feel natrual. I like being in full control when I drive.

Message: I installed a cruise control unit on my '96 from Audiovox. It is sold thru Summit, and J.C. Whitney, and I'm sure other places. I paid $89.00 for it from J.C. Whitney on sale.
It was simple to install. Just install the servo unit on the firewall, hook it up to the vacumn canister. Attach the throttle control cable. Mount the control unit on the dash, and splice into a few wires.
The unit came with instructions for about every car and truck ever made. It tells you which wires to splice into, and what color they are. Like I said, very easy to hook up.
I have had mine for two years now and have never had any problems. I believe your '92 is the same as my '96 as far as the interior is concerned. I mounted the control unit to the left of the steering column, below the gauges.
