Message: Usually if the truck won't start, it's related to the Cam and/or Crank sensor they will stop it dead in it's tracks. The o2 should just put it in limp mode.

Message: You can disconnect the o2 sensor connector and put a voltmeter on it to see if it works, however it will only put out voltage when the truck is running and exhaust is flowing so it won't help you.
A bad o2 won't keep the truck from running, infact with a bad o2 you don't notice anything except a check engine light and slightly worse gas mileage.
You could have broke a wire going to the crank sensor near the bellhousing.

Message: On my 1996 V6 it is on the passeger side of the motor mounted at the point where the motor and transmission meet. It will be behind and below the passenger side head. Follow the wire to it.
