I am just curious, but how much do you think i could get for a 97 3.9 V6 with a little less than 70k miles on it? I am interested in buying a crate engine, and it cost bout 4 grand shipped. just wondering how much i could get for my engine now. thanks a lot. brent

haha... definitly not 4k... sorry... most likely like $400-$1000 ...maybe more... but V6s arent in huge demand....

funny you guys mentioned this. got hunting for a V-8 throttle body this week at the local scrap yards. one guy has ten 3.9's in the back and cant get rid of em. as for the V-8's hardly ever see them .

Id say probably any engine from 92 up would work in your 93 with good fit, and not too much work, If you get a pre-mag (91 & older) You might run into a few things that need to be done. Hope that helps.

Funny, I have had tons of offers for my V6. Just because it isn't a race engine doesn't make it a bad one, they are dåmn good engines.

97 3.9 CC Sport. JBA stainless headers, Borla Turbo XL stainless muffler & tip, 17 x10 Boyd Coddington Smoothies, FMS injectors, V8 TB, Quick D intake, Waiting for install $$: 5.9 litre 360, posi, 3.92s, M1, 52mm billet TB, ceramic JBAs. , KRC cam, mopar perf valve covers & air cleaner

$400-$600, but those are Canadian prices. I
won't sell it for that, I'd rather keep it, throw it
on my engine stand and mess around with it.
There are actually stroker kits for the V6 now, if
they ever come down in price it would be great
to do that to it.

You probably won't get much say around $500. I have a 93 dakota with a 3.9 magnum with only 79000 miles and I couldn't get much for it. I was thinking about selling mine because I am planning on putting in a v8.
